What is Motoskate Farms?
Motoskate Foundation began with an international group of people that came together to support orphan care in Eastern Congo. A huge part of the success of Motoskate Foundation was born from asking how we can be good stewards of our connection to a community on the other side of the globe that supports each other through education and child care. It does not look like traditional charity. What we found was a way to invest in skill sharing and revenue generating assets like motorcycle taxis but that is not all.
The core of our success did not come from major donations that caused long term dependencies. It comes from the strength and innovation of our partners and our commitment to walk beside them.
The community we support does not only run their own school and motorcycle taxi business. They use what they have to build resourcefulness for the whole community. This includes farming! The orphans even operate their own gardens for food and income.
So what is Motoskate Farms? We are taking what we have done successfully in a community with little resources and applying it in Fayetteville Georgia just South of Atlanta.
We are currently partnering with local churches who feed their community with healthy locally grown produce. Our goal is to create jobs here that reconnect the community with the land and healthy food. We hope this will grow into having our own education farming campus that creates meaningful jobs and experiences. Then, just like we do in the heart of Africa, a successful business will grow. As we become increasingly independent from our charitable investors, we will use the profits to clone our success for more communities in need.
